When you hear voices…it just may be “stranger than fiction”…
If you remember the storyline, there’s little to give you an overview on. Harold Crick (Will Ferrell) can hear voices. Actually, it’s one voice that narrates his life. Harold thinks he’s just crazy until he hears the ominous words: “little did he know, it would lead to his imminent death.” This inspires Harold to find the author of the book going on in his head. He searches out Professor Jules Hilbert to see if he can’t help figure out the voice in Harold’s head. Upon finding the famous author, the plot unwinds as the great clash between tragedy and comedy continues as Harold’s “written” life.
Great movie. In fact, I will go so far to say that I would watch it again. However, I would have to watch it with someone who’s never seen it because I feel like the story is that good to share. Without giving away what wasn’t in the previews or the ending, it’s a great romantic comedy (emphasis on the comedy). You can see yet another facet of Ferrell’s acting career (he doesn’t just do “stupid” movies) with a new character and motivation. In fact, a lot of his expressions are what sell the whole narration of his life plight. I think this is a must-see for anyone who just needs a night to sink into a good story.
